British Standard
In 2012, Katie Fontana and Tony Niblock founded British cupboard makers Plain English out of the want for authentic, simple joinery that was decidedly modest and genteel. Today, Plain English has grown internationally and is recognised in the canon of quintessential English cupboard making for the home.
Taking inspiration from a bygone era of craftsmen and craftswomen, British Standard offers unfussy and eminently practical designs with a more industrial feel than Plain English – think tugboats and steam trains. British Standard Cupboards are made in Suffolk to exacting standards, and celebrate the best in quality materials and craftsmanship.
